Another Season in the Net

Another season has come to an end.

It was a good one for Chandler.

They made it into the playoffs and advanced to the semi-final round.

Although they lost 2-0 in the semi-final game, Chandler finished incredibly strong with 35 saves on 37 shots for a save percentage of 95%. Not too shabby.

This was a great group of kids and a great group of parents that we got to spend the hockey season with. We owe a huge thank you to Chandler's coaches. Not only did they donate hours of their time for these kids, they were all tremendous mentors as well. It's a tough job to teach kids to win and lose with grace and dignity. Not only did they do that, every kid on the team left with new skills and confidence.

Great job this year Chandler! We're proud of you!

A little birthday knitting

Matthew was in need of a new hat. Reason 1 - He got a new winter jacket for Christmas so the previous hat didn't match. Reason 2 - In an attempt to wash his previous hat I managed to shrink it so that it might fit a doll, if you stretched it. So this is the fine end result. The outside of the hat is merino wool and the inside is alpaca, very soft and very warm. Happy Birthday Matthew, even though I am posting this waaaay late!

PS - the hat model is Chandler who is a very good sport :-)

There's a new girl in town

Meet Emma! She joined our family on Friday. She is a "shorty"Jack Russell Terrier. She will be 11 weeks old on Monday. We can't get over how small she is, which is about the size of a slipper. She is hilarious to watch as she is getting brave and exploring everywhere and everything.
