Survivor - Feline Edition

Shelby returned home Sunday after being missing for 23 days! She is very thin, very hungry, and very happy to be home with her people. You can imagine how surprised Tom was when he went to see "what that noise was that sounded like a cat crying" and found Miss Shelby begging at the door to come in. She will definitely be getting some extra TLC for the next couple weeks while we try to get some weight back on her. Any ideas?

Diane I think Scott and I saw her the day we pulled the boat??? We did not know she had been missing?? So glad you have her back! What a treat! She is a lucky kitty to come home it is going to be cold tonight! I would give her mix in some Canned cat food, Fish is high in fat, you could get her some salmon:) Love a happy ending Yeah!

She was last seen on October 5th, the day we left for LA. My neighbor looked for her everyday and night with no luck. I was able to borrow a couple cans of fancy feast from same neighbor, thinking that wet food might be a little gentler on her tummy too as opposed to her usual kibble. I'm wondering about some kitten food for a couple weeks. I know that it is higher in calories too and often recommended for pregnant cats to help keep their nutrition up. Guess I'll be calling the vet in the morning for some advice.

She's doing much better! She had a check up on Tuesday and got a clean bll of health. She did lose a pound which is pretty substantial since she was only 8 pounds to begin with. But she is eating as much as we will give her and has settled back into her old habits and even wandered outside for a couple hours Wednesday afternoon.
